grazie LaLa!

I came to Shanghai with my two children, hoping to get a sense of the local art scene. What LaLa gave us went far beyond expectations.

They created a fully customized art journey — we visited independent galleries hidden in lane houses, contemporary art spaces in M50, and even a few underground shows I would’ve never found on my own. But the highlight? A trip to Songjiang, where our Pal arranged a private visit to the studio of a well-known Chinese artist. We talked for hours about materials, philosophy, and cross-cultural creation.

What impressed me most was how LaLa handled the family side of things. We had two Pals — one of them fully focused on helping with my kids: taking them to a creative workshop while I had uninterrupted time with artists. The other was my cultural compass, translator, and art soul-mate all in one.

My kids had fun. I made real connections. And Shanghai became, for a few days, a place that felt like home.

Grazie, LaLa — I’ll be back.
